Slow start costs Valpo at home

Coming off an emotional overtime DAC victory at home Friday night versus Lake Central, the Valparaiso got off to a slow start on Saturday which cost the host Vikings as they fell to visiting Warsaw 61-58.
After trailing at the end of the first, Valparaiso was able to make things interesting winning 3 out of 4 quarters, but Warsaw's hot shooting was the difference on the night. Valparaiso showed great fight in the 4th quarter, but came up a bit short overall.
Mason Jones led the team with 26 points and 2 rebounds, Jack Smiley added 12 points and 2 assists.
The Boys Junior Varsity Basketball team lost a hard fought game to Warsaw tonight 35-36. Caden Crowell led the effort with 8 points and 4 steals. Trent Kimes had 7 points and an assist.
Next up for Valpo is our last Friday/Saturday back to back games until sectionals as we host Merrillville Friday night and travel to Munster on Saturday.
