Valpo Falls at Warsaw

The Vikings traveled down Route 30 on Saturday night to take on the Warsaw Tigers at the Tiger Den. Valpo competed with energy as they always do but weren't able to come away with a victory, falling 51-57.
Valpo stayed with the Tigers during the first quarter only trailing by 1 but a rough second quarter gave Warsaw an 8 point lead 19-27. Coach Coolman's squad continued to fight back in the second half and cut deficit to 2 but were unable to complete the comeback.
Mason Jones had the team high with 19 points and 7 rebounds and Michael Flynn added 11 points. Blaine Dalton finished with 8 points while Breece Walls had 6 points and 8 assists.
The JV boys basketball team lost to Warsaw 48-27 Saturday. We struggled to defend early and were unable to claw our way back out of the deficit. Alec Platipodis led the Vikings with 6 points and had 5 rebounds and 2 blocks. Phil Amones had two steals and Tyler Vershure and Dwayne Smith each had 3 assists.
Next up for Valpo is our last Friday Saturday back to back games until sectionals as we travel to Merrillville Friday night and host Munster on Saturday.
