Valpo beats Elkhart to stay undefeated at home

The Vikings faced off against Elkhart in their last home game before the new year and won with a final score of 70-52, moving to an overall record of 5-2.

 

Valpo started the game off hot with four threes in a row making it a quick 12-3 lead and forcing the Lions to their first timeout. By the end of the first quarter it was 18-13 Vikings, and Caden Crowell already had 11 points going 3-3 from three.

 

The Vikings extended their lead throughout the second quarter and by halftime they were up 37-21. They continued their dominance in the third quarter, creating stops on defense, and helping each player get into the scoring column. The Vikings were able to get the whole team some minutes in the final quarter due to the big lead that was created the whole game. Jack Smiley finished the game with 28 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Caden Crowell had 17 points going 4-5 from beyond the arc.

 

The Vikings will head up to Bishop Noll and take on the Warriors, Thursday the 21st.
