Valpo Wins Home Opener

The Vikings held their home opener on Friday night and did not disappoint as they defeated East Chicago Central 68 to 27. In an all around team effort which included 10 different players scoring on the night, 3 of which had double digits: Dalton with 11, Jones with 10, and Flynn with 10. Breece Walls had 12 of the team's 22 assists. The Vikings played sold defense all night holding ECC to single digits in each quarter and forcing 17 turnovers. Mason Jones had a series of electrifying dunks that brought the home fans to their feet. Matt Hofer scored his first 4 varsity points of his career. Valpo is back in action Saturday night as they travel to Northridge for a program wide triple header.

The Valpo JV Vikings defeated the East Chicago Cardinals 62-20. The Viking defense was quite solid holding the Cardinals to only 7 made baskets out of 30 attempts. Offensively Matt Hofer lead the way making all shots attempted and scoring 17 points and snagging 10 boards. Tyler Verschure had 4 assists, and as a team the Vikings made 23 of 32 shots attempted.
