The Valparaiso Vikings met the Chesterton Trojans in the Sectional Championship on Monday at Crown Point High School. The game was intense from the start with both teams bringing lots of energy along with community and fan support. Unfortunately the Trojans closed the game, ending the Vikings postseason run. The final score on the night was 66-50.

Valparaiso started off the game hot, with multiple players stepping up to hit some big shots in the opening quarters. Overall, the Vikings led into halftime. In the second half Chesterton stormed back forcing the Vikings into too many turnovers to win the game. 

Mason Jones led the team with 15 points and Derrick Brooks added 13 points.

We want to thank the fans and community for their support throughout the season. We also want to thank our seniors: Mason, Connor, Derrick, and Lexi for their contributions to the program.
