The Vikings kicked off winter break with home contest against Carmel. Valpo came up short, falling 46 to 33. The Vikings kept in the game throughout, but could not quite bridge the gap in the end. Leaders in the contest were Mason Jones with 15 points, Jack Smiley added 9 points, and Connor McCall added 6 points.

The Junior Varsity Boys basketball team lost to Carmel 30-50 this Wednesday. Only down 4 at half the Vikings got outscored 20-3 in the 3rd and could not recover. Caden Crowell and Trent Kimes each had 8 points. Alec Platipodis and Thomas Flynn each had 3 rebounds. 
  
Valpo is back in action next week in Fort Wayne as they meet some of the top teams from around the state at the Homestead Tournament. Valpo will face Fishers, Mishawaka Marian, and Fort Wayne Dwenger in pool play.
