The Pirates came out and played most of the game in a 2-3 zone on the defensive side and were patient with the ball on the offensive side throughout the entire game. Valpo lost the first quarter 10-14 but did chip away at the lead in the second quarter having us only down by 3 at halftime by a score of 19-22.
Positive momentum and great team defense in the third quarter holding the Pirates to just 5 points had us all tied heading into the fourth quarter at 27.

Breece Walls tied things up with 2:40 remaining in the game when he knocked down a huge three pointer but the Pirates knocked down clutch free throws throughout the fourth quarter which eventually lead to the 8 point deficit for the Vikings 37-45.
